Martin - William Herschel

William Herschel Martin, who died near Shannondale last week from brain fever which followed influenza was born near Jamestown Nov 30 1893 and died Oct 14, 1918 age 24 years 10 months and 14 days. He was married to Carlota Hershbeel of Crawfordsville, Sept 22, 1914. She and two sons, Robert LeRoy, age 3 years and William Herschel, 4 months survive. He also leaves his father and mother and two sisters, Mrs. Ben Ransdell of Lebanon and Zola at home. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Shannondale. Rev E.L. Williams pastor of that church, conducted the funeral at the home and burial was made in the Shannondale cemetery. -- kbz
